Interesting facts about our facilities
The cafeteria in the basement of the large lecture hall building at HAW Kiel presents itself as an American-style "diner". Snacks typical of American cuisine such as bagels, muffins, donuts and brownies are on the menu, as are freshly baked waffles, whose aroma fills the entire room. Chicken fingers, baked potatoes and a variety of salads round out the menu for you. There are also changing daily specials.
A high chair is available for our youngest guests.

The Studentenwerk SH runs the café "cUBar" directly in the foyer of the library. Here you can get fresh snacks, coffee and tea as well as various soft drinks during breaks between studying. There is also room for a chat with your fellow students or just to catch your breath.

On the first floor of a new lecture theatre building built in 2023 for the Faculty of Engineering at Kiel University, the canteen team offers three different dishes of the day every day, such as schnitzel, stews, casseroles and more. The team also provides students with ice cream, waffles, hot snacks and hot and cold drinks. The offer is rounded off by various sandwiches and baked goods and a wide range of vegan products. The light-flooded canteen with cosy lounge furniture is just the right place to relax between two university events or simply meet up with fellow students for a quick chat. The highlight of the Dockside is the outdoor area with a view over the shipyard grounds.

The largest canteen in Schleswig-Holstein gives the impression of a piazza with its light-flooded hall and surrounding colonnades and invites you to take a break from everyday university life with its natural ficus trees. There is a wide choice of food: in addition to daily specials, you can look forward to a varied selection in the cafeteria and café lounge.
The canteen is barrier-free and offers highchairs, a children's play corner and nappy-changing facilities for the youngest guests.
Microwaves are also available for guests who want to heat up baby food, for example, or for allergy sufferers with home-prepared meals.

Mensa II is located between the university library and the Botanical Garden in the middle of campus and offers you plenty of space for a relaxing lunch break in the spacious dining hall.
In the serving area, the attractive selection of daily specials, the colourful salad buffet and dessert counter is very clearly arranged. The cafeteria and café lounge await you with drinks, snacks and other treats.
For the youngest guests, there is a play corner, highchairs and a changing table on the ground floor.
Microwaves are also available for guests who want to heat baby food, for example, or for allergy sufferers with food they have prepared themselves.

The smallest refectory in Schleswig-Holstein is located in the middle of the campus of the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts in the former boiler house. Since the winter semester 22/23, the canteen team has been serving exclusively vegetarian and vegan dishes. In addition to daily changing canteen dishes, there is a choice of different salads and desserts.
The cafeteria is barrier-free. A high chair is available for the smallest guests.

With its unique location directly on the Schwentine River and with preserved ceiling elements of the former shipbuilding hall, the cafeteria captivates with a very individual character. In addition to daily changing canteen dishes, there is an attractive salad and dessert buffet. Here you can relax between events in a particularly cozy atmosphere. In summer, the Mensa's sun terrace offers an unobstructed view of the water and boat traffic.
The Mensa is barrier-low. Children's chairs and a diaper-changing facility are available for children.
