Kitchen crime scene
To make you feel even more comfortable in your hall of residence, Studentenwerk SH launched the "Tatort Küche" project in 2022. Together with the residents, we are focussing on the issue of cleanliness in the halls of residence. The project also aims to bring the students in the halls of residence together and promote a sense of community.
To achieve this, for example, there are
- Cleaning kits for new residents
- Information brochure on cleanliness and social interaction
- Poster on waste separation in the halls of residence
- Corridor spokespersons who are contact persons for all aspects of cleanliness
Materials
As a resident in a hall of residence of the Studentenwerk SH, you can pick up free cleaning utensils from your caretaker during office hours. So nothing stands in the way of a clean flat.
Your cleaning kit contains:
- All-purpose cleaner
- Glass cleaner
- Cleaning cloth
- Dish towel
You can find the contact details of our caretakers on our contact persons page.

In our halls of residence, the waste is separated. Because that helps the environment. But separating waste is not that easy. Yellow bin, blue bin, black bin ... what actually goes where? Waste separation is a mystery not only for international students who have never heard of the German "separation rules". We explain how it works.
Caretaker Hannes
He's the expert when it comes to cleanliness in the halls of residence: caretaker Hannes. He's seen it all and knows how to sort the rubbish properly, clean the bathroom and get rid of that weird stain in the kitchen. Hannes has compiled all his knowledge and tips for you on our information posters and brochures. In a few videos, he will even show you in person what you need to look out for every day. As an expert in cleanliness, Hannes is in high demand and very busy, but his colleagues from the Student Union's caretaking departments are always happy to help.
