Canteens in Kiel
At our largest location, five dining halls, four cafeterias and three café lounges open their doors for you every day. They are all located on the campuses of the universities and are therefore easy to reach. From a delicious lunch to a sandwich or a piece of cake, you will find everything here. So nothing stands in the way of a relaxing and enjoyable break.
Things to know about our facilities
The cafeteria in the basement of the large lecture hall building at Kiel UAS presents itself as an American-style "diner". Snacks typical of American cuisine such as bagels, muffins, donuts and brownies are on the menu, as are freshly baked waffles, whose aroma fills the entire room. Chicken fingers, baked potatoes and a variety of salads round out the menu for you. There are also changing daily specials.
A high chair is available for our youngest guests.

The Studentenwerk SH runs the café "cUBar" directly in the foyer of the library. Here you can get fresh snacks, coffee and tea as well as various soft drinks during breaks between studying. There is also room for a chat with your fellow students or just to catch your breath.

The small cafeteria at Kiel University's Faculty of Technology is located on the eastern shore of the Kiel Fjord. Here, the cafeteria team offers daily changing daily specials and prepares steaks, schnitzel, fries, etc. fresh for you. On special days, delicious gratinated dishes are also offered. The special feature: You can follow exactly how your food is put on your plate in the kitchen, which is easy to see.
The cafeteria is barrier-free. We offer a high chair for the children of our guests. There is also a well-frequented billiard table in the dining room: a nice opportunity to relax during the university day.

The Mensa is barrier-free and offers highchairs, a children's play corner and a diaper-changing facility for the smallest guests.
Microwaves are available for guests who for example want to heat baby food or allergy sufferers with self-prepared food.

Mensa II is located between the university library and the botanical garden in the middle of campus and offers you plenty of space for a relaxing lunch break in the spacious dining room.
In the serving area, the attractive selection of daily specials, the colorful salad buffet and dessert counter is very clearly arranged. The cafeteria and café lounge await you with drinks, snacks and other treats.
The cafeteria is barrier-free. For the youngest guests there is a play corner, high chairs and a changing table on the first floor.

The smallest refectory in Schleswig-Holstein is located in the middle of the campus of the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts in the former boiler house. In the meantime, a relatively high proportion of vegetarian and vegan dishes has become established in the daily menu of up to four different dishes. In addition to daily changing cafeteria dishes, there is a choice of various salads and desserts.

With its unique location directly on the Schwentine River and with preserved ceiling elements of the former shipbuilding hall, the cafeteria captivates with a very individual character. In addition to daily changing canteen dishes, there is an attractive salad and dessert buffet. Here you can relax between events in a particularly cozy atmosphere. In summer, the Mensa's sun terrace offers an unobstructed view of the water and boat traffic.
The Mensa is barrier-free. Children's chairs and a diaper-changing facility are available for children.
