Our five guiding values
Studentenwerk SH has had its own corporate values since 2018. They were developed by employees in a workshop on corporate culture and then communicated to the departments - combined with the desire to work well and respectfully with one another.
A lot has happened since then and in 2025 we asked ourselves whether the values still apply to us. In a further workshop, we reviewed our previous values and ten values became five clear guiding principles, each of which combines two values as value pairs - understandable, suitable for everyday use and contemporary.

Our laughter is contagious
Passion and joie de vivre...
...drive us on. We love what we do and inspire others with it. Fun at work and an open, relaxed atmosphere are important to us. We are a company that puts people at the centre and celebrates individuality. We enjoy passing on our knowledge and learning from each other time and time again.
YOU CAN COUNT ON US
Loyalty and commitment...
...are of central importance to us. We stand up for each other, are reliable and build on each other. We never forget the importance of personal dialogue, especially in our digital world. Clear goals and roles are our compass. For the students, we are their tailwind.
WE SEE AND RESPECT EACH OTHER
Appreciation and respect...
...are the basis for our actions. We recognise our counterparts, treat each other with a positive attitude and accept each other as we are. We show appreciation through small gestures and take care of the needs of everyone, especially students. We are united in diversity and celebrate our successes together.
WE CREATE TRANSPARENCY
Transparency and a sense of purpose...
...guide us. Equal and honest exchange is a matter of course for us. We provide insight, perspective and outlook by communicating clearly and sharing relevant information. We involve everyone, especially students, in the further development of our Student Union.
OUR COMPASSION INSPIRES
Trust and solidarity...
...strengthen our sense of unity. We work hand in hand and feel safe in our teams. Through mutual trust, we shape a culture in which we can be authentic and courageous. Open and constructive feedback helps us to grow personally.
