Studentenwerk SH shows new photo exhibition
On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, the exhibition "Seegeist" with photos by Ronahi Bakr will open in the cafeteria of Mensa II (Leibnizstraße). Until further notice, the photos can be seen during the cafeteria's opening hours.
Ronahi Bakr was born in Syria in 1998 and grew up there until she had to leave her home country six and a half years ago because of the war. She studied business informatics at Kiel University of Applied Sciences and successfully completed her studies in the summer semester of 2021.
Ronahi Bakr's photographs express her love for her new home by the sea. Unlike many vacationers who only seek a place to relax for a short time in the summer by the sea, for her the beach and the Baltic Sea have become part of her new home. "You find happiness, comfort and a life full of energy there. The sky is clear and blue and the sand shimmers golden. You hear the screeching of the seagulls and the surf and enjoy the sunset in the evening. (...) The magnificent view on the beach left a very strong impression on me and opened the door to photography."
