Studentenwerk SH turns 101

The Studentenwerk SH is celebrating its 101st anniversary this month. To mark the occasion, students will be surprised with numerous special events and promotions throughout 2023.

Due to the Corona pandemic, the Studentenwerk is celebrating its 101st birthday instead of its 100th. "We wanted to be sure that our planned events could take place," explains Managing Director Susann Schrader. The first event was the Kiel University Receptionin November, which the Studentenwerk organised together with the city of Kiel to celebrate its anniversary. A colourful programme of events will follow over the next year, including open days, a dormitory battle and several campus parties.

The university catering has also come up with a few surprises: In the refectories, students can submit their favourite dishes in the "Recipe Duel", cook them themselves and win great prizes at the end. Old recipes will also be presented in a new guise. Guests in the cafeterias can look forward to a special anniversary pastry.
