BAföG Information Tour Stops at the Student Union
With the 27th BAföG amendment, the state is now providing much better support for young people. In addition, the digital application process has been simplified. To inform students about the improvements on site, a BAföG information tour by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) will stop at numerous universities across Germany in October. On Monday, 24 October, the tour will stop at Mensa I of the Studentenwerk Schleswig-Holstein at Westring 385 in Kiel.
Between 11 a.m. and 2.30 p.m., the BMBF team will be handing out information material in front of the refectory and inviting interested students to come to the information stand for personal advice. Experienced advisors from the Office for Educational Funding will be on hand to explain the BAföG funding options to students in a personal conversation, to inform them about the current improvements in benefits and to answer individual questions. In addition, an informal application can be filled out directly.
"Even though we would like to see another BAföG increase as soon as possible in view of inflation and high energy and food prices, it is still worthwhile to apply in view of the current reform," explains Normen Laars, deputy head of the Office for Educational Funding. "We expressly want to encourage students to apply for and take advantage of the funding and look forward to many visitors:inside at our information stand."
