The two most important documents for the BAföG application
You must provide certain information with your BAföG application. Find out here which documents you should not forget.
- Study certificate according to §9 BAföG
The "according to §9 BAföG" is important here. This certificate of enrolment is specially tailored to the requirements of the BAföG offices. This is the only way we have all the necessary information about your studies. - Parents' tax assessment notice from two years ago
In most cases, BAföG is "parent-dependent". Your entitlement depends on how much your parents earn and how much they can realistically contribute to your studies. A tax assessment notice is official proof of income and is used to calculate your BAföG contribution rate. If your parents do not file their tax return together, we need the tax assessment from both of them.
